Perhaps we should produce a Memorandum
Geoff is absolutely right - “Let’s take our pluralism seriously.” – and why not already on the basis of the results of this Conference to give for the wide circles of macro-economic policy makers some knowledge based institutional and mechanism design suggestions for macro-economic recovery from this crisis, to enhance economic systems “evolution”, especially to avoid double-dip and stag-flation traps etc.
E.g. severely have suffered in the crises national public socio-economic knowledge and communication structures: strategic information distortions have increased uncertainties (“nobody is able to forecast economic phenomena” etc), administrative statistics has been backward in following quick crisis-processes and so lost much quality for decision making purposes, The Economist forecast indicators set seems to be too narrow in current circumstances (missing e.g. national net external debt figures), the Maastricht criteria seem to be too fuzzy for the turbulent situations etc.
Perhaps I am not completely mistaken assuming that e.g. Chair Prof Ramazzotti (Research area C Room: E0.07) from conclusions of this Section reports may produce some effective Memo suggestions for Institutional Solutions for Economic Recovery by enhancing quality of public socio-economic communication mechanisms and knowledge structures . And so may be with many other Chairs?
