In 2006 EAEPE has started to organize EAEPE Symposia. While the annual EAEPE Conference is a rather large event reflecting the wide pluralistic spectrum of research and ideas promoted by EAEPE, the Symposia are smaller and more focused events. Next to the EAEPE Symposia the different Research Areas organize also specialized workshops.
The previous EAEPE Symposium took place in Delft, in the Netherlands, on the theme 'Privatisation and regulation of core transactions in critical infrastructures. On the co-evolution of Technology, Policy and Institutions.' It is organized by John Groenewegen.
The first EAEPE Symposium was held in June 2006 in St Peterburg in Russia and focused on the social and political economy of labor. It was organized by Mikhail Sinioutine.
