Pasquale Tridico

Statement of Pasquale Tridico for the EAEPE Council election:

I would be glad to serve for the next two years in the Council of the EAEPE. I have been an EAEPE member since 2003 and I have attended EAEPE conferences since then. I have presented papers and contributed to the development of the Research Area I: “Structural and Institutional Change in Eastern Europe”. In 2005 I was awarded the Herbert Simon Young Scholar Prize. In 2007 I founded the Research Area “Institutions and Human Development”, which is attracting many papers on the subject and several scholars, and I proposed to the Council to create a new Research Area, on Labour Economics, which should be already activated in 2010. From 2007 to 2009 I was member of the Council. My job, during the past two years, as member of the Council, was to enhance interdisciplinary methodology and to involve young researchers in the EAEPE. I have introduced, at the 2008 EAEPE conference in Rome, where I was the local organiser, several PhD sessions. For the year 2010 I embarked the project to organize an EAEPE Summer School in Rome. For all these reasons I would like to be candidate for the 2009 Council election.
